
The home built in 1880 has been in the Leonard family since it was built. Charles Leonard grew up on the farm, that his father bought from the government in 1825. He bought 2,000 acres from the government and the family still has the 2,000 acres. He served as Captin for the Union Arm during the Civil War, despite the fact that he was a slave owner. Nadine Nelson grew up in Boonville and was the daughter of a wealthy banker and one of the first millionaires in Missouri.
